Kathmandu- As many as 7,211 new cases of Corona Virus were reported from across the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. This the highest number of Corona Virus patients reported in a single day since the spread of the virus in Nepal.
Ministry’s Spokesperson Jageshwor Gautam said that a total of 7,137 infected ones were confirmed through RT-PCR tests while 74 others are from antigen.
According to Dr Gautam, the Kathmandu Valley witnessed 3,595 cases including 2,744 cases in Kathmandu district, 550 in Lalitpur and 301 in Bhaktapur.
Likewise, 12 districts have more than 500 active cases of the virus.
The number of the recovered cases is 1,612.
Similarly, 27 people succumbed to the virus in this period as the country is grappling with the second wave of Corona Virus.
With this, the national tally of COVID-19 deaths reached 3,325 so far. To date, 336,030 people have been infected with the virus while 283,994 got recovered and the number of active cases is 48,711.
Likewise, of the infected ones, 477 are in ICU beds while 131 others are in ventilators across the country. It is shared that 54 infected persons are in ICU bed in Province 1, 24 persons in Province 2, 254 in Bagmati, five in Gandaki, 77 in Lumbini, 33 in Karnali and 30 in Sudurpaschim.
Similarly, the number of COVID-19 patients in ventilator is 14 in Province 1, two in Province 2, 77 in Bagmati, one in Gandaki, 21 in Lumbini, seven in Karnali and nine in Sudurpaschim.
