CPN (UML) vice chair Bamdev Gautam has said the announcement of unification between the CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Center) would take place on coming April 21.
Preparations are underway to formally announce the unification between two parties on that day. In his address to a programme organised by the party’s Dhading-Kathmandu liaison committee here Saturday, the UML leader said the unification process was taking its speed.
Stating that his long efforts to unite the two parties were on the course of getting a logical conclusion he said, “I had been making efforts to unite the parties since 2063 BS and have now become successful.”
According to him, two separate task force headed by UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and CPN ( MC) leader Ram Bahadur Thapa were working with drafts of organizational structure and statute of a unified party. He further expressed his hope that the task force would come up with reports of assigned works soon.
“It seems that the unification process takes relatively more time to get a conclusion due to the need of undertaking some works of national importance such as expansion of the government, presidential election and securing a vote of confidence by the prime minister in this period.”
He was confident that his efforts for the unification would compensate the blame that he was responsible of splitting the party in the past.
On the occasion, members in the House of Representatives, State Assemblies and local level elected from the party were feted on the occasion
