CPN-UML is taking the lead in the latest vote count in two sub metropolitan cities in Sunsari district.
For mayor in Itahari Sub Metropolitan City, UML’s Dwariklal Chaudhary is ahead of his closest rival Nepali Congress’s Rohit Kumar Prasain with a narrow margin of 29 votes.
Chaudhary has secured 5,833 votes while Prasain garnered 5,804 votes. Likewise, for deputy mayor, UML’s Laxmi Gautam is leading the race with a narrow margin of 23 votes. Gautam has garnered 5,295 votes while her nearest rival NC’s Bimala Dhakal got 5,272 votes.
Similarly, for mayor in Dharan Sub Metropolitan City, UML’s Tara Subba is leading the race with a margin of around 500 votes. Subba has got 3,773 votes against 3,284 votes of his closest rival NC’s Tilak Rai. Also for deputy mayor, UML’s Manju Bhandari is ahead of her nearest rival NC’s Shama Regmi with a margin of more than 300 votes. Bhandari has garnered 4,412 votes while Regmi got 4,108 votes.
The UML is also leading the vote count for mayor and deputy mayor in Baraha Municipality. NC’s panel has won in Baraha Municipality ward-1 and 2 while UML registered a panel victory in ward-3 and 4.
Similarly, for mayor in Duhabi Municipality Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Loktantrik’s Bed Narayan Gachchhadar is taking the lead in the vote count with a margin of more than 800 votes. Gachchhadar has got 4,078 votes against 3,265 votes of his closest rival UML’s Binaya Raj Pokharel. Also, for deputy mayor, Forum Loktantrik’s Sunita Dahal is ahead of her nearest rival UML’s Chandra Kala Biswas with a margin of more than 200 votes. Dahal has got 3,882 votes while Biswas got 3,642 votes.
Forum Loktantrik has registered a victory at the municipality-5, 11 and 12 followed by UML at three wards while NC won at one ward. The vote counting is on at ward 7 and 10.
In Ramdhuni Municipality, NC is leading the vote count for mayor and deputy mayor.
