Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development, Hitraj Pandey, has appealed to all political parties expressing dissenting voice on the new constitution to participate in the local level polls scheduled for coming May 14
Minister Pandey said this while inaugurating a two-day orientation cum training programme organized here today by the Neglected, Oppressed and Dalit Group Uplift and Development Committee.
He urged all political parties to be prepared for the election as the discontent towards the constitution can be addressed even after the election.
“The incumbent government has the prime responsibility of implementing the constitution so there is no alternative to take the country to the path of economic prosperity by holding the election”, he added.
He refuted the allegation that the government was opting for dissolving the Dalit Development Committee and expressed his commitment to make the development committee further effective and empowered in coming days.
He said that the oppressed communities including Dalit, women, Madhesi and Muslim should struggle in an integrated manner for additional rights by institutionalizing the gained achievements.
Minister Pandey said that the profession of the Dalit communities should be modernized by ending the caste discrimination and untouchability facing by the community.
Similarly, Nepali Congress central committee member and lawmaker Min Bishwokarma stressed the need of implementing policy-level provision for equal participation of Dalit community in every structures of the state.
Training would be imparted on various topics including ‘Dalits representation in local poll’ in two-day seminar, said Executive Director of the Dalit Development Committee, Dr Buddhi Nepali. RSS
