Chief Minister of Province No. 5 Shankar Pokharel has said that agriculture should be linked with societal development. While addressing agriculture fair jointly organized by provincial Agriculture Ministry and Butwal Chamber of Commerce here on Monday, Pokharel said that the agriculture was a means of uplifting the people’s livelihood and it should have connected with the society. He further stressed on promoting the scientific agriculture system in the country.
Also speaking at the same programme, Butwal Sub-Metropolitan city Mayor Shivaraj Subedi said the farmers should be respected in the society.
Likewise, Butwal Chamber of Commerce Chair Khim Bahadur Hamal opined for programmes to lure the youths towards the agriculture sector. A total of 125 stalls about agricultural products are kept in display in the fair.
