President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Friday praised ‘exemplary’ contribution of the Army to the United Nations peacekeeping mission.
“I have full confidence that Nepal’s peacekeepers will be successful in spreading the message of Nepal’s deep peace commitment across the globe while upholding their high professional efficiency, respect for human rights and the spirit of humanitarian assistance,” read a message of well wishes sent by the President, who is the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of Nepal Army, to the concluding ceremony of a pre-deployment training for the 60th troop of Ranashardul battalion leaving shortly for Lebanon for a peacekeeping mission.
The training was organised at Panchkhal-based Birendra Peace Operations Training Centre. On the occasion, the message of well wishes was read out by Lieutenant General Hemanta Raj Kunwar.
Kunwar also directed the Army personnel participating in the training to use their military skills and knowledge gained from the training in the mission field.
