Kathmandu- Nepal has detected the first two cases of the Omicron variant on Monday.
According to highly-placed government sources, the case of the Omicron variant has been confirmed in Nepal. The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has called an emergency meeting today after the new variant of COVID-19 was detected in the country.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has dubbed Omicron as a “variant of concern” as it is potentially more contagious than previous variants of the disease. It was first detected in South Africa and has now spread to over 20 countries worldwide. (RSS)
