Kathmandu- A troop of Nepali Peacekeeping Mission has left here for Syria to participate in the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) today.
The 192-member troop comprises machined infantry, engineers, health workers, and others. The troop left here in a special flight of UN this morning.
The UN Security Council had established UNDOF in 1974 to maintain a ceasefire between Israel and Syria and to supervise the border area between the two countries. Nepali Army has been contributing to the peacekeeping mission since the establishment of UNDOF. (RSS)
