Kathmandu- The Kantipur Television is going to broadcast the musical program ‘NRN the Singer’ which is being produced by the Non-Resident Nepali Association. An agreement was reached between the two sides on the broadcasting of the show.
The agreement stipulates that the program will be aired every Friday from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm from coming November. According to the organizers, the final of the competition will be held in Kathmandu and will be telecast live on Kantipur Television.
The Culture and Heritage Sub-Committee under the NRNA ICC has launched the television reality show ‘NRNA the Singer’ with the objective of promoting the talents of the Nepali Diaspora.
Coordinator of the Culture and Heritage Sub-Committee Govinda Prasad Gautam said that the preparations for the ‘pre-audition are almost over. The pre-audition was opened on June 27.
Hikmat Thapa, the coordinator of the NRNA ICC’s Language, Literature, Culture, and Heritage Committee, said a ‘virtual audition’ was held due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Non-resident Nepalis all over the world except in South Asia will be able to participate in this competition. Senior musician Shambhujit Banskota, singer Shambhu Rai, singer Sharmila Bardewa and former president of NRNA Jiba Lamichhane are on the jury of the competition. (RSS)
