Kathmandu- The Election Commission has decided to resolve the debate over the claims over the official Janata Samajbadi Party by two factions of the party through a bench. The EC will set up a bench within a week and reach to a decision in consultation with lawyers.
The decision was reached after the EC held a joint discussion with the two factions—one led by Party Chair Mahantha Thakur and another led by another Chair Upendra Yadav today. Earlier, the EC had denied recognizing any of the factions as the official one.
In the meeting held at the EC today, the two factions have agreed to divide the party. Accordingly, both the sides stressed the EC to resolve the issue soon.
