Kathmandu- Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya on Thursday administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly appointed election commissioner Sagun Shamsher JBR. The oath taking ceremony took place amid a function at the election commission office in Kantipath.
Rana assumed office today itself, said the EC’s spokesperson Raj Kumar Shrestha. Rana who previously worked for Nepali Army, took the oath as per the constitutional provision 45 days after the constitutional council recommended him for the position in the context when the House of Representatives is not carrying out its business and there is no provision for a parliamentary hearing at present.
