President Bidya Devi Bhandari has extended best wishes to all Nepali Muslim sisters and brothers at home and abroad for their happiness, peace, prosperity, long life and good health on the occasion of Bakar-Eid.
In a message given today, President Bhandari stated this festival is vital for the exchange of goodwill and best wishes. She expressed her confidence that the festival would help promote mutual goodwill, tolerance, togetherness and fraternity since the people of Muslim community read out the Namaz collectively on this day.
“Nepal is a home to diverse ethnicity, languages and cultures. I am confident that such festival could help promote and strengthen national unity by uniting the citizens socially and culturally,” reads the message.
Furthermore, the President has hoped that the people of this community would observe the festival with precautions at a time when the world is reeling under the coronavirus pandemic.
