Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun has argued that it is the responsibility of all Nepalis to further strengthen the national sovereignty, territorial integrity and national unity as well as implementing and following the Constitution of the country.
In a message of best wishes on the Constitution Day today, VP Pun has termed this day as the historic one when the sovereign Nepali citizens promulgated the constitution on their own. Constitution Day is being observed on the Nepali month of Ashwin 3 (September 20) in commemoration of the promulgation of Constitution of Nepal through the Constituent Assembly on September 20, 2015.
Pun has extended best wishes to all the Nepalis on this occasion. He argued that through the promulgation of the new charter, the federal democratic republic had been institutionalized along with secularism, governance system with proportional representation, including social justice and all those achievements gained by the citizens of Nepal.
The message further reads that the Vice President is hopeful that remaining works surrounding the implementation of the Constitution would be taken forward. Pressing for the need for all to be cognizant of the Constitution and laws of the country, he underscored the need for effective measures to be adopted by the government and the stakeholders towards this end.
“Each Nepali should have the sense of ownership of the Constitution and respect the national charter,” reads the message.
Pun has expressed his confidence that the country would move ahead in the path of prosperity and achieve socio-economic transformation to realize the national aspiration of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’.
