President Bidya Devi Bhandari has wished that the Republic Day serves as a source of motivation and energy for all the Nepalis to realize the common national resolve of ‘prosperous Nepal: Happy Nepalis’ along with promotion of national unity. She said this in a congratulatory message today on the occasion of the 12th Republic Day.
“It is the collective responsibility of all to translate into practice the aspiration for prosperity of the ordinary Nepali,” President Bhandari has said in the message while noting that the republican system is not only our form of governance but is being established and institutionalized as our way of living. Stating that the government was working towards realizing the constitutional resolve of building a socialism-oriented economy based on social justice and equality, she has said that the since the adoption of a federal democratic republican system, the government was heading towards the path to prosperity along with good governance, speedy economic and social development.
The elected people’s representative institutions are committed to fulfilling their duties as per the Constitution and the law, in respect of the people’s sentiment to republican norms and values.
