A two-day Food Festival aimed at raising awareness on healthy and nutritious food has kicked off at Bhrikutimandap from today.
Organized by the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control, Agro Enterprise Centre and Nepal Food Scientists and Technologists Association (NEFOSTA), the event will also publicize the locally available nutritious food items.
Visitors could also savour the nutritious food items besides buying food items from altogether 82 stalls displaying food items from hill, mountain and Terai region.
Given the availability of junk food and adulterated food in every corner of our lives, Director General of the Department Sanjiv Karna expressed his confidence that the event would help exchange information on food hygiene, aware public on the endangering nutritious food items and promote locally available food items among others.
To those willing to tantalize their taste buds with the indigenous delicacies of high nutritional value, the stalls here also serve food items of various indigenous community such as Rai, Limbu, Tharu among others. RSS
