Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leaders and cadres clashed with the police in course of a protest demonstration organised by the party in the capital today.
RPP senior leader Pashupati Shamsher Rana and other cadres were injured in the skirmish with the police as they tried to breach the restricted zone at Jamal during the protest and the police tried to prevent them from doing so.
Leader Rana said that the incident was regrettable as they were thrashed by police during the peaceful protest and further warned of quitting the government if EC did not correct its decision.
RPP is in protest after the EC recently removed the portion of Hindu state and Monarchy from the party statute stating that it contradicted the constitution.
It may be noted that police had fired some tear gas shells to control the mass protest. RSS
