Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Krishna Bahadur Mahara has said the budget for the upcoming fiscal year (2074-75 BS) fiscal year will address the issues of federalism.
During his meeting with secretaries from different ministers at his office on the issue of budge allocation in the upcoming fiscal, the Finance Minister said the country was in the phase of the implementation of federalism and the new budget would come accordingly.
Pledging some newness in the new budget, he said it would break the tradition of announcing the unrealistic budget.
He went on to say that in the past capital budget remained unspent, blocking the wave of economic development and path for new projects. This tradition must to be stopped, he asserted. “The upcoming budget will try to address the public needs and issues.”
On the occasion, he urged secretaries not to doubt whether the election would be held.
Also on the occasion, National Planning Commission (NPC) Vice-Chair Dr Meen Bahadur Shrestha called for an end to the culture of haphazard formulation of plans and budget.
Finance Secretary Dr Shantaraj Subedi said the implementation of the aspect of budget should be focused while formulating the budget.
The NPC suggested the Finance Minister the formulation of budget not exceeding Rs 110 billion for the upcoming fiscal year. RSS
