CPN (UML) standing committee member Subas Nembang has said the UML will not bow down before anyone when it comes to safeguarding the national independency.
Addressing a mass meeting organised in connection to the Mechi Mahakali National Campaign the party started from today to garner public support for the constitution and election, at Damak, he said the government and the people of Nepal blunted the unofficial border blockade imposed on Nepal by India last year, and the party has started the campaign to further boost the national dignity and self-respect.
The former Speaker of Parliament said the UML was the true party that best protected the interests of the people from the Tarai to the mountainous region, and the indigenous nationalities.
The UML kicked off the 15-day campaign from Kakarbhitta of Jhapa district today and held mass meetings in Kakrbhitta, Birtamod and Damang in that connection which were attended by the party’s top leaders, including party chairman KP Sharma Oli, Nembang, secretary Yogesh Bhattarai and other office-holders.
Locals had welcomed and applauded the convoy of cars carrying the top leaders at various places along the highway as it marched ahead from Kakarbhitta to Damak. The leaders will make an overnight stay in Damak at the party cadres’ homes. RSS
